Must be honest on this one.  Around 9pm I realized I had not taken a picture for today and as I am a loser with no Friday night plans despite the fact that I am not in school right now and do not have to work tomorrow, I looked around for something to take a picture of.  I love this handmade fairy figure my roommate gave me as a houswarming gift when I moved here.

The first 100 degree day of summer was spent at the pool as it should be!  Great time with my friends Lacey and Ryan!

Just a note

As I look at some 365 sites and groups I'm amazed at some of the amazing picture people take for this.  In fact, I start to think..."maybe I shouldn't post my pictures, they are definitely not up to par with these!"  But my reason for doing this is not to take 365 professional looking photos (I'll be lucky if I get 1).  One of the things I think will be the most awesome about this is that it will be like a photo journal.  A photo journal of a year of my life.  Snapshots of what I did on certain days, what was important to me at that time, etc.  I think it's going to be amazing to look back at this.  This website- http://content.photojojo.com/tutorials/project-365-take-a-photo-a-day/ and it's "why do it" section is what convinced me to do it and are the reasons I am doing it.

Happiness in Sorrow. 4 years ago today my beloved coworker at Catholic Charities Refugee Program, Shingo, died in an accident while on a canoe trip with another coworker. I will never forget that day. Other than family, he is the closest person to me I have lost. He was from Japan and was one of the most amazing people I have ever known. Every 2 years his parents come back around the anniversary of his death and while they are here they take out many of the people who were important to Shingo to the Japanese restaurant he worked at. This is his adorable dad giving a speech at the dinner tonight.

I like to buy flowers for myself for my apartment.  It makes it look nicer and makes me feel good!  Knowing this my friend made me this vase when we went to a paint-your-own-pottery place and made something for each other.

I looked out my balcony and saw a fairy dancing in this tree.  Upon focusing, what was it "actually?"  The setting sun reflecting off a strand of spiderweb that would generally go unnoticed.  But really, maybe these are one in the same.  After seeing this magical moment I took the picture because this is my favorite time of day.  I call it The Golden Hour, when the setting sun is at the spot where it turns the whole world gold.

Found this outside Indy's German beer garden and Pickles is a German dog so she couldn't resist grabbing a pint.

Went bowling today.

Played tennis as the day of summer solstice came to an end. This is my favorite time of day.  I call it the Golden Hour, when the sun is setting and makes everything look gold.  I noticed some spiderwebs on the fence shining in the sunrays.

"Small balls.  That's how we roll."  In the middle of class I randomly announced "I want Mexican food!"  Didn't even realize I was craving it, so had to make a trip to Fountain Square on my way home to eat!

Some fun things happened today that could have made good 1st pictures.  My friend Danelle got married and I went bowling with a friend, but I decided it could be cool to begin and end this photo project with a picture of myself.  We'll see if I've changed 365 days from now... :)

My 365 Photo Project

I have seen other people do this and always thought it would be fun.  For some reason I thought about it today and googled it and found this website- http://content.photojojo.com/tutorials/project-365-take-a-photo-a-day/ and decided to do it.  I love taking pictures anyway and as of today will commit to taking at least one photo a day for the next 365 days and posting it on this blog as well as in a facebook photo album.  I promise to make it not only pics of my dog and food ;)
